The Missing Math of AI
Are we measuring what AI is doing — or what AI is changing in the economics of the business?
Only 12% of CEOs say AI has delivered both cost and revenue benefits, while 56% report no significant financial benefit so far, according to PwC. Gartner finds 44% of CEOs struggle to demonstrate AI-driven financial returns, while BCG reports that only 14% clearly define the P&L impact across all AI initiatives. The conversation therefore needs to move beyond adoption, activity and productivity — towards business economics and value.
